Title: Senior Joint Venture Representative
The Organization:
Our client is a global, diversified upstream oil and gas company, headquartered in Canada. Their three main operating areas are North America, the North Sea and SE Asia. Team Dynamics:
The successful candidate will report to the manager of the Joint Ventures group. The organization’s JV group currently consists of fewer than 20 total staff working within an efficient team environment. You will interact with all of the various Asset teams and the A & D group.
Activities & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be the JV representative for a number of key operated and non-operated properties. You will be responsible for managing all partner-related activities and championing the organizations development proposals with partners and will be accountable for assessing and approving partner proposals that add value for company shareholders. You will manage the commercial and business aspects of both new and ongoing development and maintenance activities, including negotiations for new facility development, expansions and fee reviews. As the JV representative for the operated properties, you will chair operating committees and provide joint venture support to the asset teams in terms of presenting and championing proposals and initiatives and dealing with ongoing JV related issues involving facility construction and usage, op cost optimization, partner negotiations, unitization and third party arrangements. You will coordinate the preparation of operating budgets and review production volumes, capital and operating cost spending for all company properties. Your technical expertise will benefit the entire JV group in providing assistance on projects. You will work closely with the JV Manager on various strategic planning activities and interface regularly with the A&D group in promoting and evaluating opportunities to enhance its non-op properties.
Skills & Experience:
This position requires a degree along with 15 to 20 years of diversified experience. An engineering degree is an asset. The ability to manage a large portfolio of projects will require excellent communication, organizational and planning skills to deal with the large number of proposals and contractual issues handled by the JV group. The ideal candidate will be the person that enjoys the technical and business related challenges associated with joint venture activities. You think fast on your feet and your related engineering experience allows you to negotiate from a position of strength. You are a positive team player with excellent verbal and communication skills and proven leadership abilities.
Remuneration:
Our client rewards more than fairly, based on a candidate’s previous experience & level of competency. This includes a Base Salary, Performance-Based Bonus, Long Term Incentive Plan and Flex Benefits.
